The Japanese liquor store Ma Sake, meaning real or authentic sake, is one of only ten Japanese liquor stores in Europe. The store is centrally located in the Netherlands, in the picturesque town of Oldebroek, with easy access and parking available at the shop.


We are open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 13:00 to 17:00. Of course, you can also make an appointment. Please contact us to arrange one.

Aladdin Nigori - 300ml

Aladdin Nigori sake of Aizu Homare has a history that goes back to the start of the Showa period. While it retains the traditional essence of this Nigori Sake, efforts are made to adapt it to modern wishes. The fruity aroma, reminiscent of bananas, harmonizes sweetness and acidity, which enhances the overall freshness of the drink. It is known as an invigorating sake with a taste that is both refreshing and not overly sweet.

Kyokuko Sparkling Kijoshu - 375ml
Kyokuko Sparkling Kijoshu - 375ml

Kyokuko Sparkling Kijoshu is complete different from any other sake with bubbles through the unique Kijoshu brewing method. With this special method, a full powerful sweet sake is created with a very nice balance between the sweet on the one hand and the acids in the sake on the other. A sublime lush sake with bubbles is the result. Nice mousse, nice fruit in the nose and on the pallet, lots of umami and a fantastic fine aftertaste. When brewing sake, the Moromi tank is normally filled in three steps for four days. The first day the tank is filled for 1/6 with the yeast starter, steamed rice, koji rice and water. The second day is not done anything, the third day the quantity in the tank is doubled, then 2/6 steamed rice, Koji and water is added. The fourth day this amount is doubled with the addition of 3/6 tank of steamed rice, koji and water. With the Kijoshu method, the fourth day of sake is added instead of water, making the sake much sweeter and fuller after fermentation than with the normal method.This sake can be served with desserts but also as a apertif.This sake is best served cold in a flûte.

Shinshu Mugi Honkaku Shochu - 720ml

Shinshu Mugi Honkaku Shochu is an authentic wheat (mugi) shochu with a light, smooth profile and a subtle wheat aroma. It offers a refreshing mouthfeel with a gentle sweetness. It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, with soda, or with hot water. Kikusui Brewery is based in Iida City, central Japan, set between the Southern and Central Alps. The region is known for its rich natural environment throughout the four seasons. Using local rice and water, the brewery crafts sake with care. As the only brewery in the Iida and Shimoina districts, Kikusui produces sake, shochu, and fruit liqueurs, uniting traditional brewing methods with modern equipment in a setting blessed by nature.

Salaryman Kintaro is a business manga written by Hiroshi Motomiya that depicts the hero Kintaro Yajima's success and growth as a salaryman. This collaboration was realized to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the series in July 2024.The daiginjo sake used in the sake is made from rice polished to 50%, and is slowly and painstakingly brewed through long-term low-temperature fermentation. It has a clean, smooth taste with few impurities, and a fruity, gorgeous aroma. It is also a daiginjo sake with a light taste that is rich and packed with the flavour of rice. Please enjoy this delicious sake along with the famous lines of the main character Kintaro as a source of energy for tomorrow for all salarymen.

Kitakata Terroir Episode I - Junmai Ginjo - 720ml

Kitakata Terroir Episode I is made from famous Yamada-nishiki grown in Kitakata. The theme and challenge of Episode 1 are how this rice can be grown in the cold North of Japan and how to create a unique flavour element typical of the terroir of Kitakata. On the nose, a sweet aroma of melon, strawberry and raspberries. On the pallet a refreshing sweetness, lots of minerals, a broad mouthfeel and a fine crunchy aftertaste. The sake is delicious with steamed vegetables and poached white fish. It is best to serve this sake cold in a white wine glass.

Kitakata Terroir Episode II - Junmai - 720ml

Kitakata Terroir Episode II Junmai is a Junmai Muroka Genshu sake, or pure rice sake without carbon filtration to which no water has been added before bottling. The sake is made from Yumenokaori sake rice from Kitakata and yeast that was locally developed in Fukushima. In the nose hints of Muscat grapes, melon and Lychee. On the slightly dry pallet, the beautiful, powerful, full, robust taste with lots of Umami stands out. The finish is refined and very enjoyable. A powerful sake that combines wonderfully with grilled dishes, especially when offered hot. The sake can be served cold in a white wine glass or hot in an O-Choko.
