The sake became World Wide Famous after the formal Prime Minister of Japan brought it as a gift for President Barack Obama during a state visit. The light gold bottle is made to look like a trophy in honor of the victory of life. A nose of sweet, elegant mix of white flowers is reached by their own Kato9 yeast. This sake has its characteristic lush texture with a touch of cotton candy, peach and pear in the mouth.

De Katoukichibee Shouten maakt sake onder de merknaam Born. De brouwerij werd in 1860 opgericht door Kato Kichibee en inmiddels is de elfde generatie president.
De brouwerij geniet een enorm grote internationale reputatie met sake die handmatig gemaakt worden om vervolgens bewaart te worden op ijskoude temperaturen voor het vrijgeven. Vroeger maakte de brouwerij de speciale sake voor het keizerlijk hof en nog steeds is er de Born Chogin sake die voor koninklijke families gemaakt wordt.
Bij staatsbezoek aan president Obama van de Japanse premier in 2010 was als relatiegeschenk een fles Born meegenomen de “Dreams come true”.
